Sarah and I recorded some covers to alleviate the boredom of the covid lockdown. It was fun to play all the instruments though clearly I would be labelled 'inferior drummer'. Doing this Rundgren classic gives one new appreciation as to how good he really is.

hey sir what was that ebay website that buys the radios ?
Do you use the purple and green rca for back
Do you have the engine tilted up or down? I am curious, we are planning a 75 mile run down the coast.
I find it tracks a lot better when it's down. Gas mileage is going to suck either way.
Super helpful! Those things are $120 now!
Question? Here at Pickwick flotation devices must be worn by all while locking through. Is this for all locks.
This was so interesting. Love the sound of the go fast boat!
I have the same radio and have been trying to install in my slk, do I need a second ground look isolator for the right and left rear speakers that are behind the seats?
two zip ties and soapy water that install takes 30 s
you should put an voltage raising unbalanced - to - balanced (non-differential - to - differential) line driver in between the after market head unit and the factory bose amplifier, otherwise you will lose and least 50% of the required pre-amp line-in voltage and you will never drive the bose amplifier with the signal input strength it wants- i retrofitted the bose 2 ohm door and rear speakers and bose amplifier and LHD loom into my RHD r170 (which had only 4 ohm door speakers, no rear speakers, no amplifier when i bought it), added a now discontinued AudioControl Overdrive (not the Plus version) , head unit is a Becker 7990 with Becker iPod controller, looks and sounds as factory, its been a good setup since 2009
Hello from Australia after watching you video l purchased a JVC KD-T752BT stereo and there is no sound coming l wired the black red yellow orange and blue antenna wires to the 70-1786 Car Stereo CD Player Wiring Harness just like you did and there is no sound
The blue wire is to power on the bose system not the antena. Do you have the bose in your car? If not you'll need to wire up the speakers as well. Hope this helps.
@@13572danube Thanks alot for replying back, yes l did manage to get it working as you said l wired the white and grey front speaker wires to get it working
I'm having the same issue, blue, yellow, black , red, orange wired, power on but no sound. When you say wire up the speakers, what do you mean? Thanks
Got there in the end, cut off the plugs and matched up the rest of the wires!
@milescockerill2104 You will have to individually solder the speaker wires on to the stereo to the wires on the car
they did not require you to wear a PFD? your wife?
Great detailed video, thank you for sharing
Good video, thanks for the info
This was great, really wonderful performances throughout. This is so special!!
Do you know how to access the bulb? Mine turns on, but no light comes out.
Did yours fail completely? Mine isn't spraying properly, on passenger side i'm getting no spray at all, decent on driver side though. Also sometimes i have to press the switch multiple times for it to spray.
Mine failed completely. I don't think you have a pump issue. I'd pull the tubing off the passenger side nozzle and see if you get flow from there. If so, you'd need a new nozzle. As for it working intermitantly, it could be a failing pump but more likely a switch. You could replace the pump and see if it goes away. Certainly the much cheaper and easier approach.
Wow, classic use of the wrong tools, lose the pipe wrench and use a trim removal tool. Makes the job so much easier.
Thanks ,,, I have always wondered what the procedure was 👍👍😎😎

Thanks so much for this video - very much appreciated (as I am a boater on the Upper Mississippi River) and am fairly new to locking through. 💯 🙌 👍
Happy to help. It can be intimidating if you don't understand the process. Every lock system is different but this is standard practice up in this neck of the woods.
I’m researching a 2004 Mariner and found your channel. Would you recommend them? Are Crusader engines reliable? Thanks
I've really enjoyed ours. We are river boaters. They don't do great in heavy seas as they are pretty flat bottomed. Crusaders are heavily built gm engines. I have the 7.4s which are bullet proof but are gas pigs. The only thing I really don't like is the bearth is against the starboard side. The later ones have an island which would be much better.
@@13572danube Thanks for the reply.
Hi Dougie from a KQRS listener
Interesting. I took a canoe with two other guys early fishing season 1970-71 north of Red Wing. I cant remember the lock but it was near the town where Anderson windows come from We were ready to portage the canoe past the lock when the operator said he would lock us down river. We put in the lock as you see in this video with the line the operator had. The lock was much bigger than my 16" Grumman so I had to do a bit of paddling to the gate. .. We fished a bit (Frankly this was as dumb as it gets as we were drinking beer as well. Nothing like trying to pee in a canoe in early spring in Minnesota) We caught nothing soo headed back and were locked back upriver. An experience I am lucky I'm alive to tell. We were living in Anoka or Champlin at the time.
Great story and I've seen canoes and kayaks in the locks. Never tried to pee out of a canoe though. I don't have the greatest balance in the world.
During the fall we would take our boat off the lake and hit the river. So much fun going through the locks up in the twin cities.
Well done. This will be very useful for new boaters.
I worked in reconstructed Ford lock and dam for about 3 maybe 4 years. All because the little boats where flipping over when filled up. Was a great job blowing that thing up.
what a butch job. seriously???
for future reference, if you use a small flat blade and pop the initial pin on those little plastic clips.. you will save yourself a lot of time and headache ;)
Interesting to watch after seeing the tows go through lock 19 at Keokuk.
Maybe you could be a instructor how to go thru the lock they could call you the lock master
My crew does it in 45 min
Love it!
Don't cleat off, correct!!! You can end up dumped out or sunk. thanks for videoing this. I appreciate when people share knowledge!!
That isn't a small boat.
Nice shirt Doug Hometown
Did you end up connecting the ground loop isolator to ground? That would have been when the GoPro died... Thx!
Nope. Don't need to ground it (I'm not even sure there is a ground lead). Just put it in the audio path and you're good.
@@13572danube Thanks again. I'm finally going to be able to installing one in my SLK this weekend!

Awesome song to sing for Communion. Dear Jesus, Let It Be!
Why would you shut your engine off. I know you said it's courtesy I've worked on commercial fishing boats must my life and we never shut the engine off going through the lock
Around here people only switch off their engine in small locks with high walls, because of the fumes/smell. In bigger locks nobody bothers. Also, in some locks the water can push your boat forward or backwards when docking up. In these cases the engine is helpfull to stay in place... nobody likes to hang on the ropes for dear life. And certainly not when there's also commercial barges in the lock.
liked the way you showed the removal of the pump. I was wanting to know the dificulty of getting to it. Thanks
289.00 for the dealer to fix it. Never buying another Mercedes. Way to many repairs..
Question, I heard you say they monitor channel 14, would that be Marine VHF or standard c b
Marine. It might be the same as cb but I'm not certain.
@@13572danube Hi Doug, marine VHF and citizen band use different bands.
first screw all the slow shit they r goverment employee dont give them coke or beer they no u r a kiss ass for safety u need to wear a life jacket
Crazy to think just this morning i was listening to KQRS and you were talking about boating and this video showed up in my suggested videos have a great day Doug be safe and i love the radio adds.
Thank you so much. Enjoy the fall season. It's my second fav.
Good video, i ordered the same radio and did the install. I've got audio but I've got a nasty loud click when turning the volume to zero or switching sources. Any idea what that's about?
Did you buy the ground loop isolater in the video? It's about 12 bucks from crutchfield. That should fix it.
@@13572danube i guess i missed that part, but it's i contacted Critchfield support and they are sending me some of those free of charge.
"A Stupid Boston Whaler" Show me this stupid Boston whaler!
Excellent
You sound like a car salesman….thanks Doug.
Did you mention that the lock Master likes to run as many small craft up or down as possible at once? It takes a LOT of water to fill the chamber for the next downbound lockage, even for a 600' x 110' chamber.
Locking through is very dangerous. I'm surprised that the lock personnel weren't calling you down for not wearing a PFD. No, the worst possible thing is getting caught between the boat & lock wall to be crushed.
